Plantable Seed Paper

My BIGGEST takeaway from Service-Learning is that the Community needs Innovative and Fun activities to encourage them to do their part for the environment. This deduction was made from analysing the interviews and surveys conducted.

With these, we came up with our Plantable Seed Paper Campaign.  It not only recycles paper, but also gives waste paper a second life and also encourages green fingers with planting activities.

Materials obtained - waste papers from School of DE, seeds from EES, and collection of bottles.  Step one was making paper with seeds implanted within. Next was preparing materials for planting. After planting, we monitored its growth and ensured its viable outcome.  The plants were used as a display on the Event Day. Posters were made to ensure that people would attend our event and I made a map for participants I invited from outside of the NP Community for their ease of entry. Lastly, preparing for the activities we planned – sign board, plants, and papers.

Finally, Event Day is here! Setting up the booth and stations, were important in conveying our message to the Community. My task was guiding the community on making paper.  The event was a success!
