Business & Contract Law
Learnt the concepts and principles of law through critical analysis, logical reasoning, and problem solving and management skills.

Food & Bevarage
Learnt table service and service procedures. Acquired knowledge on types of menus and basic menu planning, information technology used in F&B, food sanitation, food nutrition, environmental health legislation as well as basic facility layout techniques.

Mechanical Facilities
Learnt the principles of operation of mechanical systems. Systems covered include mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning. Also learnt operational and maintenance requirements of these systems as well as to read drawings of selected systems.

Environmental Health & Workplace Safety
Learnt about managing environmental health such as indoor air pollution, types of pollutants and the corresponding health impacts as well as the study of pest and vector control. Attain bizSAFE Level 2 certification.

Customer Relationship Management
Learnt the principles and concepts of customer relationship management such as good customer service, elements that affect the provision of good services by service staff, protecting privacy of customers and dealing with difficult customers or situations.

Communication Essentials
Learnt skills such as how to properly interview a person, presentation skills, speech and report.

Electrical Facilities
Learnt the different electrical facilities found in high-rise buildings. Which include the electrical supply system, lifts and escalators. In the photo above, my group was given the topic of passenger lift. We had to go around Singapore to take pictures of different lifts.

Front Office Management
Learnt the importance of customer relationship during the different segments of a guest cycle such as prearrival, arrival, stay-in and departure. Includes the services, roles and functions of the front office department as well as the service quality and pre-requisites of front office staff.

Executive Housekeeping
Learnt the basic roles and functions of the housekeeping department, the pre-requisites and tasks performed by the Housekeeping Manager, the importance of basic aesthetics in hospitality establishments, quality standards and guest satisfaction as well as the procurement functions and inventory control.

Financial Accounting
Learnt to understand basic accounting theories, concepts and conventions. Equipped with the skills to interpret and use financial accounting information to analyse financial statements for decision-making. Budgeting, financing strategies, working capital management as well as capital investment analysis was also covered in class.

Innovation Made Possible
Learnt ideation, prototyping and testing. We had to come up with a prototype to help the community. Our idea was derived from the smile and pain points from our interviews.

Career and Professional Preparation 1
Required to explore, grow and reflect on how we can serve in the industries. This module is also designed holistically for the contribution towards the overall well-being of the society. Was introduced multiple pathways to develop different abilities to the fullest potential.

Was tasked to design the Class T-shirts. Single-handedly coordinated with my classmates, teachers and the T-shirt vendor to manage the work in terms of designing, sourcing, ordering, money management and delivery. Had detailed planning and great execution of the task given.

Clean Up
Project

For VIA, my class had to pick up litter around the estate area. This was carried out near the school. We also had to ensure that the estate was clean.

National Day Carnival for the Elderly
2018
Organized activities for the elderly at SilverAce, where we had to interact with some of the elderly by guiding them through the activities that was planned for them to enjoy.Â
Participated in organising some games for the National Day Carnival, where the elderly from SilverAce were invited to the school to commemorate National Day.
It was a great opportunity to develop my social skills.

Guide Dogs for the Visually Impaired
2019
Had to raise funds for the training of the Guide Dogs for the Visually Impaired. This was done by selling the merchandise the organization provided us with. Detailed planning was done, where awareness of the program was executed in order to raise funds within a month.

Promote Reading
2020
This was done during the pandemic, so students were only allowed to do VIA in school. My class decided to make a poster that promotes reading. I was in charge of this project. I had to coordinate and cooperate with my classmates in designing the poster.
